BUYING GUIDE

Laundry Buying Guide

1. Front-Load vs. Top-Load

Front-load washers use less water and energy, spin faster so clothes dry quicker, and can stack to save space. Top-load washers are easier to load without bending and tend to cost less up front.

2. Match the Dryer Fuel to Your Hookup

Gas dryers usually dry faster and cost less to run, but need a gas line. Electric dryers just need a 240V outlet. Check what your laundry room is already set up for before you choose.

3. Vented or Ventless

No exterior vent? A ventless heat-pump or condenser dryer recycles the air and collects moisture internally — ideal for apartments and interior rooms, though cycles run a little longer.

4. Measure for Fit (and Future Stacking)

Standard units are 27" wide; compact units are 24". Leave room for the door swing and a few inches behind for hoses and venting — and if you might stack later, choose a stackable-compatible pair now.
